Philip Stegmaier
Philip holds the position of Product Manager for the ExPlain Analysis System. He joined BIOBASE in 2004.
Philip Stegmaier received a degree in Biology (Biochemistry/Biotechnology, Genetics and Microbiology) from the Technical University of Braunschweig. His thesis focussed on HMM classification of DNA-binding domain sequences.
Philip has been part of the ExPlain development team since its beginnings. He developed methods for regulatory sequence analysis, worked in technical customer support, sales support and as a data analyst for scientific services. In 2007 and 2008, Philip spent several months in the United States for research partnerships. In the course of his activities, Philip has gathered experience in a broad range of areas in computational biology including sequence and structure analysis, regulatory network analysis, and biomarker discovery. Philip's responsibilities now include coordinating the development of ExPlain, as well as marketing and sales support.
