Jesintha Maniraja
Jesintha holds the position of Vice President of Curation at BIOBASE. Her responsibilities include directing curation for all BIOBASE databases, as well as coordinating custom curation projects.
Jesintha received her Masters of Science in Animal Science, and her Masters of Philosophy in Biochemistry, from the University of Madras. Her work focused on identification of Growth Arrest Specific (GAS) gene in the X-organ region of Penaeus monodon (Crustacean) and studied its significance during molting stages.
Prior to joining BIOBASE, Jesintha was a researcher at the Université Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium. Once joining BIOBASE in 2005, Jesintha was instrumental in setting up the BIOBASE Indian Division, and worked for several years in curation management. In her current role, Jesintha directs database curation for all BIOBASE products, and coordinates custom curation projects.
