Michael Tysiak (CEO/CFO)
Michael Tysiak is the CEO and CFO of BIOBASE. He joined in October 2001 as Interim CFO and became CEO and CFO in January 2002. His main responsibilities are company strategy, business development, sales & marketing, and investor relations.
Michael holds an Industrial Engineering degree (Diplom-Wirtschaftsingenieur) from Technical University Berlin, Germany and a Master degree in Management Science of Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, NJ, USA.
In his corporate career Michael worked in six different responsible management positions at Procter & Gamble for about 9 years. He was in charge of Financial Management in the consumer industry and also in the international pharmaceutical industry. In these positions he achieved significant results, among those a turnaround, cost savings and M&A projects.
Afterwards he took the responsibility as Chief Financial Officer at Mister Minit Germany and Czech (100 Mio. € sales) for two years. He reorganized and restructured the company and installed a proper budgeting and reporting.
Before he joined BIOBASE, he gained two years experience in the biotech industry as Chief Financial Officer of id pharma. He prepared an IPO, closed a financing round, redesigned internal processes, installed budgeting and US GAAP reporting.
Michaels vision for BIOBASE is to grow the company as the global leader in offering biological database content by providing customers with highest quality products.
